Terms & Conditions

1. Who We Are & Acceptance

GiG is operated by SCHELLES LLP, a Limited Liability Partnership registered in India at Suite 209, Door No. 23/757/C3, Kizhekkethala Bridge, Down Hill, Malappuram, Kerala 676519, India (GSTIN 32AFYFS1542L1ZH). By creating a GiG account, browsing jobs, or applying to work through the platform, you enter into an agreement with SCHELLES LLP on these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use GiG.

2. What GiG Is — and Is Not

GiG is a marketplace that introduces workers to employers. We are not an employer, a staffing agency, or a party to the work arrangement you agree with the other side. Workers who find work through GiG are independent — using GiG does not create an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between you and SCHELLES LLP, and nothing here entitles you to wages, benefits, or protections from us as an employer. The employer and the worker are each responsible for their own tax, insurance, and statutory obligations arising from the work. We do not guarantee that any job will be offered, filled, or completed.

3. Eligibility & Identity Verification

You must be at least 15 years old and legally permitted to work in India to use GiG as a worker. If you are under 18, you may use GiG only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and you must not accept any work that Indian law prohibits at your age. Every worker account must complete ID verification (a valid government-issued document) and a live selfie before it is marked verified. GiG only lists verified workers to employers — providing false, expired, or someone else's identity documents is grounds for immediate account suspension.

4. Accepting Jobs & Punctuality

Once you accept a job through GiG, the employer is relying on you to show up. It is your responsibility to arrive on time for any shift or job you have accepted. Repeated no-shows, late arrivals, or last-minute cancellations may lower your rating, restrict how many jobs you can accept, or lead to account suspension.

5. Fees & Payments

Our charges depend on the kind of hire, and are the only charges we make:

  • Daily and part-time work — GiG charges a 5% service fee on the wages you earn from a job secured through the platform. It is deducted before your earnings are released, and the remaining 95% is paid out for the work you complete.
  • Full-time placements — a flat ₹199 placement fee is payable by the employer on a confirmed placement. There is no percentage cut of a full-time salary.

Fees are exclusive of GST, which is charged where applicable and shown on your invoice. Earnings are released after the job is marked complete and any dispute raised about it has been closed. Fees already incurred on a completed job are not refundable; where a job is cancelled before it starts, any fee charged for it is reversed. The wage itself is agreed between the worker and the employer — GiG does not set it and does not guarantee payment by an employer beyond the amounts processed through the platform.

6. No Circumventing the Platform

Jobs, chats, and payments are meant to stay on GiG so that both workers and employers remain protected and verified. Sharing your phone number, email, or other direct contact details with an employer (or a worker) in order to arrange work or payment outside the platform is not allowed. If GiG becomes aware that you have shared contact details to bypass the platform, your account will be permanently blacklisted — this applies to both workers and employers.

7. Code of Conduct

Treat everyone you meet through GiG — employers, workers, and our support team — with respect. We have zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, threats, or abusive behaviour of any kind. Reports of misconduct are reviewed and can result in a warning, suspension, or a permanent ban.

8. Ratings, Suspension & Termination

Every completed job may be rated by both sides. Consistently low ratings, verified complaints, fraud, fake documents, or any violation of these Terms can lead to a temporary suspension or permanent termination of your account, at GiG's discretion. You may also close your own account at any time from your profile settings or at gig.schelles.in/account-deletion.

9. Disputes About a Job

If something goes wrong on a job — work not completed, payment disputed, or conduct you want to report — raise it through the app while the job record is open, or write to us at thegig@schelles.in. We will ask both sides for their account and any evidence, and we hold any disputed amount that is still with us until the dispute is closed. Our role is to mediate in good faith on the basis of what each side shows us; we do not act as a court, and our decision does not prevent either side from pursuing its own legal remedies.

10. Using the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the GiG app and website for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell any part of the service, use it to build a competing product, interfere with its operation, or access it by automated means without our written permission. Where you install the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply to your installation of it. We may release updates, and some updates are necessary to keep using the service.

11. Limitation of Liability

GiG connects workers and employers but is not itself the employer of any worker, nor the employee of any business, unless separately and explicitly stated. We verify documents and facilitate payments in good faith, but we are not liable for the conduct of workers or employers, or for losses arising from a job arranged through the platform, beyond what is required by applicable law. Where we are held liable despite this, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in respect of the job the claim relates to.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as GiG grows. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use GiG after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Malappuram, Kerala have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.

14. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, complaints about content or conduct on the platform may be sent to our Grievance Officer, who will acknowledge them within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days: Grievance Officer, SCHELLES LLP, Suite 209, Door No. 23/757/C3, Kizhekkethala Bridge, Down Hill, Malappuram, Kerala 676519, India thegig@schelles.in.
